Team Information

Italy -

Manager – Marcello Lippi

Italy are the last world cup winners back in 2006, a final which everyone will remember and finishing with a classic penalty shoot-out moment. Italy have a very impressive record in the world cup not just making 16 world cup appearances but actually winning the trophy four times in 1934,1938,1982 and in the last world cup in Germany 2006. Italy have arguably one of the best goalkeepers in the world in Gianluigi Buffon and with him and plenty of other talent Italy will be looking to make it five world cup wins and two on the trot.

New Zealand -

Manager – Ricki Herbert

The all whites as there known to many people in New Zealand have not done particularly well in the world cup history books. They have only ever qualified once to play in the finals and that was back in 1982 where they didn’t even make it out of the group stages. This time around it all changed for New Zealand when Australia were moved out of there qualifying group and put into the Asian qualifying group by Fifa. This gave them a helping hand back into the world cup and this time around they might be able to get past the group stages and into the last 16.

Paraguay -

Manager – Gerardo Martino

Paraguay qualified for this summers world cup in a always tough looking south American qualification group. On the way they lost to Brazil and Chile but did record a famous victory over Argentina. Paraguay have made seven previous world cup appearances best finishing in the last 16 stage on four separate occasions. With the quality striker like Roque Santa Cruz up front they will be hoping to make the quarter final stage this time around.

Slovakia -

Manager – Vladimir Weiss

Out of all 32 teams that have qualified for the Fifa world cup Slovakia are the only team to make there debut in this years tournament. Slovakia qualified for the first time back in November 2009 and ever since then they have been looking forward in taking part in the best competition in the world. So if Slovakia were to get past the group stages in this years Fifa world cup it would be classed as a major achievement and probably the best achievement in the teams short existence .
