Team Information
Australia –
Manager – Pim Verbeek
Australia tend to be renowned for there fantastic cricket teams and there brilliant rugby teams but this Australia football team will be looking to get past the group stages of the world cup for the second time in a row after achieving it in the 2006 world cup. Australia do have some great players including captain Lucas Neill, Tim Cahill and goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer and there fans will be hoping that these players can bring Australia success in this summers world cup.
Germany -
Manager – Joachim Loew
Germany will fancy themselves as one of the favourites to win this summers world cup as there, or there about when it comes to the latter stages of any world cup. They have previously won the world cup 3 times in 1954,1974 and 1990 and have had 16 appearances. There recent form has also been pretty good in the world cup cause in 2002 they came runners-up to a great Brazil side and in front of there fans in the 2006 world cup they finished third place. Germany will be looking for the same again this time around and why shouldn’t they with some highly talented players around like Bastian Schweinsteiger and Lukas Podolski I think they could go all the way.
Ghana -
Manager – Milovan Rajevac
Ghana have had only one world cup appearance previously that was in the last world cup in Germany. The team from west Africa made a great impression getting into the last 16 for the first time ever. Ghana qualified for this years world cup back in 2009 when they beat Sudan 2-0 to clinch there place on the greatest stage of them all. Ghana will be looking for a repeat of the success in 2006 or maybe even more.
Serbia -
Manager – Radi Antic
Serbia and Montenegro as it was back in 2006 were left red faced as they left the world cup in the group stages bottom and with three defeats. But this year Serbia will be feeling confident of there chances of success after topping there European qualifying group and leaving France in second place and facing a play-off. Serbia’s best finish in the Fifa world cup has to be the two fourth place finishes in 1930 and 1962 as the team was still known as Yugoslavia.
