Team Information

Algeria -

Manager – Rabah Saadane

Algeria have only reached the world cup finals twice in there history and failing to make it past the group stages on both occasions. Algeria itself may not be known by most football fans but some of there players have graced the best leagues in the world including Madjid Bougherra, Nadir Belhadj and Hassan Yebda. These players might give Algeria an outside chance of getting into the last 16 stage.

England –

Manager – Fabio Capello

1966 is along time ago now and that was when England last won the world cup. England fans dare to believe this is there year, with players like Wayne Rooney, Steven Gerrard, John Terry and Frank Lampard why cant England win it? Penalties has been one of the main reasons why England haven’t won the world cup over the years players losing there bottle as they step-up but this year feels different for all England fans like they don’t need penalties and can beat anybody on there day and that’s why there one of the favourites to win this years Fifa world cup.

Slovenia -

Manager – Matjaz Kek

Slovenia’s one and only world cup appearance was in the 2002 world cup finals in South Korea, they didn’t make it past the group stage but this year you can bet they will be hoping to make it one better and reach the last 16 stage. Slovenia got through to this years world cup by causing properly the biggest upset in the European qualification by beating Guss Hiddinks Russia on the away goals rule in the European play-offs.

USA -

Manager – Bob Bradley

USA might not be noted for its brilliant football team due to some of the other sports that get played over there but they haven’t had a bad record in the world cup, they will be heading into this summers world cup with 8 previous world cup appearances and there best finish being in 1930 finishing in third place. There are probably joint favourites to go through to the last 16 stage with England but they wouldn’t mind going one stage further into the quarter finals where they finished up in the 2002 world cup.
