Team Information

France -

Manager – Raymond Domenech

France last won the world cup in 1998, this was one of the best moments in French football history as they beat the favourites Brazil 3-0 in front of there home crowd. France also reached the final in 2006 where they lost on penalties to Italy. Also in that match came a rush of blood from Zinedine Zidane when he decided to head butt Marco Materazzi which lead to the great player being sent off in his last ever game. France qualified for this years world cup finals with a controversial hand ball by Thierry Henry which led to William Gallas tapping in from close range against Ireland, back in November 2009 in the world cup play-offs.

Mexico -

Manager – Javier Agurre

Mexico’s best finishes in the world cup have been the quarter final stage in 1970 and again in 1982. they have made 13 previous appearances in the world cup finals and two quarter finals may seem to the fans its not a bad achievement but to me I think they could do a lot better this year and that’s why I have got them down as a strong underdog in this Fifa world cup.

South Africa -

Manager – Carlos Alberto Parreira

South Africans previous best finish in the world cup was in round 1. South Africa did not have to qualify for this years world cup as they are the hosts. South Africa will have some great talent on show as some of there players grace the best leagues in the world. South Africa sure to be a fitting venue for this summers world cup as there is some great modern stadiums for all the fans to look forward to going to including the main stadium which will host the first game of the world cup and the final of the world cup and its called soccer city which is in Johannesburg.

Uruguay -

Manager – Oscar Tabarez

Uruguay’s best finishes in the world cup finals have been both in 1930 and 1950 when they won the great trophy. Despite winning two previous world cups which is not a bad achievement there recent world cup record is not great, they failed to qualify for the 2006 world cup hosted by Germany and they couldn’t manage to get past the group stage in the 2002 world cup co hosted by Korea and Japan. One thing is for sure they will hope to do much better this year in South Africa.
